Why a Barnes and Noble Link?

Just like many of you, I get annoyed when I log on to my internet server, only to be inundated with ads, ads and more ads-some of which actually interrupt me while I am trying to read my e-mail or research a topic. When I redesigned my site, my preference was not to host commercial advertising.

However, I have made an exception for one company-Barnes and Noble. Barnes and Noble's contribution to the Howard County community is exceptional. The local store sponsors and provides monthly space for the Howard County Student Writers Alliance-this organization supports high school students who want to pursue writing as a career or an interest and provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, peer critiquing and inspiration. The store also hosts a middle school book club. Barnes and Noble features presentations by many local writers. Book group gatherings on a variety of topics are a common sight at the store. Through its holiday gift wrap program, Barnes and Noble provides fundraising opportunities for Animal Advocates, a county volunteer organization which offers humane animal education and low-cost spay and neuter opportunities to Howard County pet owners and whose members volunteer at the Howard County Animal Shelter.

LTES is pleased to offer its site for a Barnes and Noble link. We hope you will visit it when making your next book purchase.
