SAT preparation

I tutor high school students in their mathematics subjects and I suggest this workbook for my students who are interested in doing something extra to prepare for the test. It is comprehensive, clearly written and easy to use in the workbook form.
Decent, but needs work

All SAT math review books usually have a short summary/review of the concepts/formulas, etc. and then give you the practice problems "Tune-Up Exercises". In this book, it is as if the writers of the summaries and the problems were 2 different people. The summaries were practically worthless, covering only the most basic and generic of information. When you get to the problem sets, they are many times harder! You scratch your head, puzzled
at how you're even to go about solving it. The only way to learn is then to take a stab at it, fail, and then see how they solved it, which is pretty demoralizing. Disappointingly, the solutions often rely on information that is NOT EVEN IN THE SUMMARY/REVIEW. This is especially annoying in the difficult sections of Word Problems, Counting Problems, Probability, and Combinations.(I suggest consulting the textbook). To make matters worse, there are plenty of annoying errors. Here are all the errors I found in the "Tune Up Exercises":

Arithmetic Skills and Concepts: #9 Solutions B & D are the same.
Percent: #15 Problem written wrong.
Polynomials and Algebraic Fractions: #16 problem written wrong.
Factoring: #2 problem written wrong.
Algebraic Methods: #20 problem written wrong.
Algebraic Inequalities: #4 problem written wrong (+ sign should be minus).
Translating from English to Algebra: #13 Solution III should say "CAN have more" instead of "has more". Very confusing and changes the solution.
Ratio and Variation: #14 Solution is wrong. It cannot be III.
Polygons and Parallelograms: #17 Problem written wrong.
Coordinate Geometry: # 20 problem written wrong.
Graphs and Tables: # 10 Graph is not clear enough to distinguish 450 from 460!
Miscellaneous Problem Types: #17 Answer is A, but it's missing the exponent "n".
Working with Functions: #8 The answer is E, but solution gives different answer, because solution has different question (it ignores the radical around variable c).
Some Special Functions: #3 The answer is D, but it's not technically correct. It should be y=.15(x-1) +300 because we have to account for the first copy already being paid for.

In all, a decent, though flawed study guide.

as a tutor typos are really annoying. i have come across at least 4 or 5 problems that are unsolvable, and when i look up the answer the problem there is different.
Disappointing

This book is a repeat of old version. There were only a couple of new things in it.
Not worth the money!
why bother?

The other Barrons SAT Math workbook is great. This one is not as good. Why bother with this one? Just buy the other one.
