Cynthia Harden

K-adult, language arts (reading comprehension, writing, spelling, grammar), all mathematics through geometry

Cynthia Harden received her B.S. from the University of Maryland and her M.Ed. In Guidance and Counseling from Loyola College of Maryland. She is Founder/Director of Learning Together Educational Services, a home-based tutorial service operating in Maryland since 1992 and a former adjunct professor at Howard Community College, where she taught the college's Praxis I National Teacher Exam review course, and created the PSAT prep course in the Continuing Education Division's Kids on Campus program. From 1990 to 2000, she served on the adjunct faculty of the Community Colleges of Baltimore County - Catonsville, where she taught freshman composition. She is cofounder, and past president of the former Tutoring Association of Maryland (TAM), and a member of the National Tutoring Association (NTA), the Education Industry Association (EIA) and the Developmental Education Association of Maryland (DEAM). She has taught since 1979, including service as a founding faculty member of the Sandy Springs Friends Middle School and Assistant to the Head/Assistant Head/Ninth Grade Program Director at Thornton Friends School. She authored "Back to School" a bimonthly feature of Howard County's Village News newsmagazine and is the author of The Maryland Functional Math Tests Practice Workbook © , and Getting Started as a Private Tutor©. As a five-year resident of Kent Island, Cynthia oversees LTES services and is a substitute instructor with the Queen Anne's County Public School System. She is the proud guardian of three rescued felines (Rudy, Roxie and Cocobean) and an avid skier.

Luke Whitehair

Basic Math through Algebra I; general education, K-8


Luke Whitehair received his BA in Education
from Fairmont State College in 2001.  Now completing his fourth year at Stevensville Middle School in Queen Anne's County, Luke teaches general music and chorus.  In his spare time, Luke enjoys playing basketball and reading action fiction.

Sherry Valenti

Sherry D. Valenti

Elementary education, general and special


Sherry Valenti received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Townson
University and is pursuing her Master's in Technology Instruction through
Johns Hopkins University.  A graduate of Queen Anne's County High School and
a resident of Stevensville, MD, Sherry is currently serving as a 5ht grade
instructor at Kennard Elementary School.  She has previously served as an
instructor with the Anne Arundel County Public School System at both
Brooklyn Park and Quarterfield Elementary Schools, where participated in the
Math Lead Teacher Program, and served on the various committees, including
Technology, School Improvement and Teacher Advisory Board.  Her specialties
include general elementary education, all subjects, and special education.
