General Requirements to Become an LTES Referral Tutor:

Tutors must live in or near the counties served by LTES, possess a Bachelor’s degree or better, have some tutoring/teaching-related experience, sit for an interview, and pass a criminal/educational/experiential background check. Tutors are hired as referral tutors only; that is, once the above requirements are met, potential clients who contact LTES are referred directly to Tutors, who set their own days, times, and fees with potential clients. LTES charges a modest referral fee to the tutor per client, and a yearly advertising fee to cover posting the Tutor’s biographical sketch on the LTES website. We hire year-round; we do not, however, hire “summer only” tutors, as we have found that once a bond has been formed between tutor and client, it is not advantageous to the client, especially if the client is a young child, to abruptly switch tutors.

Tutors must have a vehicle in good working condition; a cell phone, while highly recommended, is not required. Tutors are hired for their love of children, knowledge of their field(s), ability to translate challenging material into terms the client can understand, energy and enthusiasm for teaching one-on-one, and ability to travel to the client’s home. We are currently hiring for the positions listed below; if nothing is listed after this description, then we are currently fully staffed. Tutoring can provide excellent part-time income and the satisfaction that comes with helping students to reach their potential.

If you would like to explore becoming an LTES referral tutor, please e-mail your resume to learningtogethertutoring@yahoo.com or fax it to 410-604-3484. I will then contact you to set up an interview.
